OUR PROJECTS
MOTHER’S ENGLISH SCHOOL
Through your prayers and support, Mother’s English School is close to finishing its first year. We had an insurmountable task in front of us but God was gracious enough. This first year we have had 52 students in our school, ranging from Lower Kindergarten to Class III. From those numbers, about 28 also resided at the school campus. Now this year, we are planning to extend our class to Grade V. As the above picture shows, we are adding a floor to the far building to provide 5 rooms for classrooms and are confident that we will have more students next year and hence need the space. A top priority is also hiring quality teachers with better pay, and more study materials and resources within the school premises. Fully developing the school is a top priority because it has the potential to be self-supporting and if God allows much more in the years to come.
COMPUTER TRAINING CENTER
Underprivileged students, most of them who have hardly even seen a computer in their life are been provided with a basic computer course (PGDCA) for a period of 9 to 12 months. This enables them to get a better job, unlike before where their basic education in village hasn’t help much.
FREE SCHOOLS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED KIDS
Hundreds of villages still do not have facilities for basic primary education for kids. Mercy Smiles opens free school centers in some of these villages and provide basic education where kids learn to read and write at a primary level. This project not only helps the kids but also has opened the eyes of many parents regarding the importance of education. If not for these free education opportunities, many parents wouldn’t even entertain the thought where they had to send their kids to school on a daily basis. Mercy Smiles have 4 such free schools now and passionately wants to increase that number in the coming year.
SEWING TRAINING CENTER
Our six months sewing training course helps young girls, widows and also boys; who thereby after learning this talent are able to make a living in their respective village or nearby town. We also provide sewing machines to extremely poor students on the completion of their course.
CHILDREN’S HOMES
One of our 12 children’s home where students are built physically, mentally and academically. Our Home parents are extremely dedicated and provide 24 / 7 care and support in helping the child grow to its utmost potential.
